We are pleased to offer this very rare Oval cased carriage clock made by Reclus, V. Rue du Temple 14 ,Paris dating circa 1870 to supply the then lucrative Ottoman (Turkish) market.
As can be seen from the images the clock is in excellent condition and is currently being professionally serviced to ensure long term customer satisfaction
The fine quality movement of 8 day duration strikes the hours and half hours on a bell gong and bears the makers stamp on the back plate. It retains its original platform lever escapement and has a push button repeat facility on the top of the case.
The 2 1/4 inch porcelain dial dial with Turkish numerals has a beautiful engine turned masking which also surrounds the three subsidiary dials for day , date and calendar.
It really is very uncommon to find such complication
